• Gently slip Scupper Buddies ® wire loop around scupper flapper retaining ring and down into gap (1) formed between scupper's flange and retainer ring

 

• Align Scupper Buddies ® such that pressure leg hinge points rest vertically at roughly the 11 and 1 o'clock positions and Scupper Buddies ® feet sit flat (2) across flapper valve's face

 

• Gently move feet together so that the included silicone rubber band may be temporarily slid up both legs at once and is positioned atop legs at retainer ring to hold Scupper Buddies ® firmly in the gap

 

• Once firmly held in place, apply marine adhesive (or equivalent water proof sealant) down into and around gap such that the Scupper Buddies ® remain firmly in place and in proper alignment

 

​​(1)  For installation with Perko part # 0365DP, an additional rubber spacer gasket is required for proper fit.

(2)  Some very slight adjustments might be necessary due to small variances in manufacturing and installation.

      For optimal results, install Scupper Buddies ® on new scupper valves.
